Home Safe and Sound

::Summer Vacation 2008::

We got in late last night after five wonderful days in Florida. The weather was absolutely perfect (no hotter than 92), and our condo was amazing. We’re already talking about going next summer and staying a week. Bookit.com rocks!!

This obviously has nothing to do with the beach, but I always smile when I see one of these. Over my lifetime, I have spent many, many hours shopping with my mom, aunt, and grandmother. During those shopping trips when I was younger, we would somehow always end up with a Peach Nehi--until they stopped carrying them in our area. My daughter found this one at the grocery store in Mississippi and bought it for me. I was very grateful. (She told me to make sure I mentioned that she was the one that found it.)

This was our condo. It was built last year and was sooooo amazing. O.k., so it’s not that it was anything really spectacular. It was just new and pretty and very clean. I like that.

The water was beautiful and very clear. I’ve been to a Florida beach when I was a kid, but I was still amazed out how great it was.

Here are the pools at our condo. Three ginormous pools! Not that I need three pools to be happy. But three ginormous pools means plenty of room for all of the wild and crazy sweet little children staying at our condo. Especially the ones up at 8:00 when the pool opens and you’re trying to read a book on your balcony. Seriously, though, it was never packed around the pool. I laid out there for several hours during the course of a couple of days and it was pleasantly relaxing.

My daughter and I got henna tattoos the night before we left. Honestly, if I could get a permenant one painted on, I would do it. I felt very hip sporting this on my ankle.

All in all, it was a wonderful trip. There was a little shopping, movie watching, lots of great food, golfing, putt-putting, and doing absolutely nothing- involved. Very relaxing. I didn’t want to leave.

So now it’s back to reality. Grocery shopping, balancing the checkbook (ugh), running some errands, working out (double ugh).

And blogging.
