2 Timothy 1:12 For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. (NKJV)
Mrs. B.
When I think of her, I can only smile. She has that effect on people when she comes around.
All of my life she has called me Miss Shara. I’m in my 30’s y’all, but she did that the last time I saw her. She probably started that when I was born.
She is tiny and precious, and has a heart of gold.
I can remember when I was little and my mom helped her put on fake fingernails so she would stop biting her own.
I can remember many a party at her house, for New Years Eve or just because.
She loved me when I had my daughter in high school. She encouraged me and came to my wedding.
She even bought Avon from me when I was attempting to sell it.
And now her body is suffering.
For years I -- along with so many others -- have been praying for her health. For a miracle.
Quickly.
And we are still waiting.
I know that when she meets her Savior one day, she will be perfectly healed.
Selfishly, I don’t want to wait until then to see it. I want to see it now.
No more hurting, Lord. No more medicine. No more pain.
Ever since the beginning, she has shown nothing but a positive, optimistic attitude. She knows her God. She knows His power. And she trusts in Him.
I know we are to do the same with all of our heart. (I even read about it this morning here.) But that heart that I trust with is heavy for her family right now. And for the friends who have stood by them and supported them for so many years.
Not just in sickness, but in so much more. Raising children. Golf Tournaments. Football games. Beach Weekends. The stresses of life. Laughter. Prayer.
Please say a prayer for Mrs. B and her family today. Pray for wisdom and for peace. And pray for a perfect healing.
